It’s a big statement, one that we’d never be arrogant enough to make about ourselves. Frankly, nobody should be calling themselves “the best”. All the snooker club operators in and around Manchester work hard in a tough industry, and do the best they can with that they have got so we have to respect that.

- Table Quality - antique 1980s Riley Aristocrats and Ambassadors. Solid & level. They don't make tables like they used to.
- Maintenance - All tables have been recently recovered, new pockets, cushions and nets, brushed often and ironed weekly.

- Toilets - cleaned regularly and we have separate accessible toilet that fits a wheelchair easily.

A little bit about Hazel Grove Snooker Club, our history and where we see ourselves going in the future.
Established in 1985
Hazel Grove Snooker Club was set in 1985 and has been owned by the same family ever since. The snooker club has been visited by various professional snooker players over the years such as Alex Higgins, Steven Hendry, Judd Trump, Jimmy White, Dennis Taylor, Ken Doherty and more. We have had a few famous members too from both Manchester United and Manchester City, and have had a few surprise guests like soap stars, boxers, cricket stars and other sporting champs! That being said, every single guest famous or not, is really special to us.
Over 14,000 Square Feet
The building was once a factory and was acquired by the snooker club owners in the 1980's. The building is huge and is over 14,000 square feet. While there are other snooker halls in the UK that have integrated bowling alleys, we don't know many clubs this size that are dedicated to just snooker and pool. It is one of the biggest clubs in the UK, certainly the biggest in Stockport and Manchester.

The club has a whopping 15 full size snooker tables, 5 full size American pool tables, 14 English pool tables, 2 darts oches and a table tennis arena, bar, kitchen and lounge area as well as a large free car park. We can only think of a couple of other snooker clubs in the UK that big.

Thursday 23rd July was a pretty special day at Hazel Grove Snooker Club. Not only did we take delivery of two brand new Ultimate Pool Rasson Apollo 2 tables , but that very evening we also welcomed Attacking8Ball to the club for an exhibition night packed with great pool, plenty of laughs and a brilliant atmosphere. It turned into one of those nights that reminded us exactly why we love this game. Two of the latest Ultimate Pool tables... at no extra cost We've always believed that if we're going to invest in the club, we should do it properly. That's why we've installed two Ultimate Pool Rasson Apollo 2 tables – the latest competition tables used throughout the Ultimate Pool circuit. They're beautifully built, play incredibly consistently and are exactly what you'd expect to see at the highest level of English pool. The best bit? We're not charging any extra to play on them. A lot of clubs now charge somewhere between £10 and £15 an hour to use these tables, but that's never really been our philosophy. We want everyone to have the chance to play on the very best equipment, whether you're an Ultimate Pool professional, a league player or just popping in with your mates for a few frames after work. So our prices stay exactly the same. We think that's how it should be. Attacking8Ball visits Hazel Grove To help celebrate the new tables, we invited Simon, better known as Attacking8Ball , to spend the evening with us. If you haven't come across Simon before, he's one of the UK's best-known pool content creators. He travels around the country visiting clubs, challenging local players and filming everything through his trademark head-mounted camera. His videos have built a huge following because they're competitive, entertaining and give a great insight into pool clubs across Britain. Representing Hazel Grove were: Lee Hutchy Bran Walker Jorgie North (one of our Youth Academy players) Adam Boyes ...with a special cameo appearance from Ultimate Pool professional Jimmy "The Joker" Croxton . It was a cracking match from start to finish. Our lads certainly didn't make life easy for Simon and pushed him all the way before he eventually came out on top 9-6 . Considering the standard Simon plays at week in, week out, we thought that was a really strong performance from the team. Then came 25 one-on-one challenges! As if that wasn't enough, Simon then took on 25 different local players , one after another. Some matches lasted only a few minutes, others turned into tactical battles, but every single one was entertaining. There were brilliant clearances, outrageous pots, plenty of banter and a lot of people walking away with a story to tell. The atmosphere around the club all night was fantastic. Players who'd never met before were chatting, spectators were gathering around the tables and everyone was willing Simon on—or trying to be the one to beat him! It was exactly the sort of evening we love hosting. Lee Hutchy wasn't finished... Most people would have called it a night there. Not Lee Hutchy. The following day Simon came back to the club for another challenge match, this time going head-to-head with Lee over a longer format. It looked like Simon had done enough when he opened up an 11-9 lead , but Lee had other ideas. He dug in, found another gear and battled back to level things at 12-12 , setting up a brilliant finish. In the end Simon just edged it, taking the final few racks to win 15-12 , but it was a quality match that both players can be proud of. A massive thank you We'd like to say a huge thank you to Simon for making the trip to Hazel Grove and putting on such a great evening. Thanks as well to everyone who came down to watch, took part in the challenges and helped create such a brilliant atmosphere. Events like this are what make pool clubs special. The Hazel Grove Snooker Club was brimming with excitement on Halloween night as players gathered for the Thursday Pool League Finals, a thrilling evening that combined competitive play with festive fun. This year, the club added a twist to the finals by encouraging all players to come dressed in Halloween costumes, transforming the club into a lively display of ghouls, goblins, and all kinds of creepy creatures. The atmosphere was electric as players put their skills to the test while also embracing the Halloween spirit. A Night of Costumes and Competition Players went all out with their costumes, making it a night to remember. From vampires to zombies, and even a few superheroes, the costumes brought a playful, spirited touch to the usual focus on strategy and precision. The enthusiasm in the air was contagious as spectators and players alike cheered on their favorite teams, enjoying the unique combination of competition and costume. The Big Winners The night wasn’t just about the costumes, though—there were major wins to be celebrated as well! In League 1, the team known as 8 Balls Of Fire emerged victorious, proving their prowess at the table and claiming the League 1 Cup. Their consistent skill and teamwork set them apart from the competition, earning them a well-deserved place in the spotlight. Over in League 2, it was 2 Men and a Monster who took the win, showing that even the scariest competition can be overcome with dedication and practice. Their creative team name was only outdone by their talent, as they pocketed balls with precision and confidence, securing the League 2 Cup. The night also included the Plate Competition, where the 3 Musketeers team came out on top. Their victory in this category was the cherry on top of an already exhilarating night, as they demonstrated their own set of skills and determination to bring home the Plate win.
