Re-Tipping

Cue Tipping Service

We offer a snooker cue re-tipping service. Our owner, Dino, has decades of experience re-tipping cues and will take good care of your cue.

Buy Tips

We have a snooker shop selling all different types of snooker cue tips from standard types to high end premium and professional tips.

Fitting Only

If you already have a new tip and you just need help fitting it to your cue, we can help too - we fit tips for just £4.

  • How long does it take to re-tip a cue?

It normally takes around 15-20 minutes depending on the complexity of the re-tip. Some harder premium tips may take longer to glue, sand and shape than softer versions.

  • Can you re-tip while I wait?

Cues are re-tipped on Monday and Tuesday mornings when the club is closed so we can focus on doing it right without distractions.

We can re-tip your cue while you wait so long as Dino (our cue-retipping guru) is on shift, normally Wed and Thursday evenings after 7pm, and the club is not too busy. If he is not able to do it while you wait, it will be completed on the following Monday/Tuesday morning.

  • What type of payment methods do you accept?

We accept both cash and card payments in store.

  • Can I get a refund after a tip has been installed?

We can only refund tips that are unusued and in the orginal packaging. Once a tip is purchased, removed from the packet and chopped, sanded and installed, we are unable to refund the tip as it is no longer in a returnable state. However, if the tip is faulty or comes off prematurely we will happily repair/swap and make it good. Just speak to Dino and we will do the best we can to resolve.

  • What glue to you use?

After decades of re-tipping cues and a huge amount of trial and error testing different types of glues, we find Locktite Super Glue Gel to be the best adheshive for snooker tips. The gel formula allows good control when applying the tip, it bonds quickly and lasts a long time. In our experience the glue does not damage the wood or ferrule so long as you don't apply an excessive amount, and quickly wipe away any excess.

  • Do you shape the cue tip?

Yes, we sand, shape and burnish the tip into a rounded dome using a number of different sand paper grades. Some customers request a very specific tip shape - we will try our best to accomodate. For example, some customers like a perfectly flat tip, rather than a dome. This requires us to use a sharp blade to shave the dome off and gently sand with a fine sand paper.

Unfortunately we are unable to create a "mushroom" style tip shape.

  • What happens if my tip falls off?

Don't worry, this happens for a number of reasons from knocks and bumps, to temperature changes that affect the glue. Do not leave your cue in your car overnight as the cold temperature will make the glue brittle and the tip will probably ping off eventually. On the other extreme, don't leave your cue next to a radiator as the heat will warp the cue.

Whatever the reason, we will attempt to re-glue the tip back on free of charge. It normally is a simple case of gently sanding the cue and tip to remove the old glue, then re-apply new glue.  If for some reason we are unable to re-attach it, we will advise a full re-tip - but we will try to avoid this if possible.
